Motivation is what starts you on the road to making positive changes in your life, but habit is what keeps you going. Opinions vary on how long it takes for habits to form, but once they do your changes are fixed. Occasionally, however, we need to be reminded that the good habits we’ve formed need to be carried out regularly, whether it’s meditation, exercise, or eating more healthily. And that’s where HabitMinder comes in.

HabitMinder allows you to select from a preset list of habits, split into sections such as exercise and family time. So you could set up a habit to remind you to stretch for five minutes at 8am every morning, another to remind you to meditate at midday, and a third to remind you at 10pm that you promised yourself you’d get more sleep.

The free version allows you to create up to three habits and see basic stats on how you’ve done. To create more habits, you’ll need to pay a one-time fee of $9.99 or a recurring $6.99 annual subscription.

Whether HabitMinder works for you depends on how you view making positive changes. To some it will be a boon, to others no more than a glorified Reminders app. You could also argue that if a habit has been formed, you shouldn’t need to be reminded of it. Nevertheless, HabitMinder makes changing your life fun and if it helps you on your way, then it’s to be commended.

the bottom line. If you struggle to turn good intentions into solid habits, HabitMinder may just give you the push you need.
