Logitech Craft Advance Keyboard
$199.99 From Logitech, logitech.com Features Backlit smart illumination keys, touch–sensitive control, 1,500mAh battery, USB Type–C rechargable Design
At 960 grams, the CRAFT has significant heft that affords it a premium, non–slip feel. Along the top of the keys is a raised aluminium strip with an input dial, a power switch and LED, and a USB–C port for connecting the supplied USB–C to USB-A cable, which charges the internal 1,500mAh battery.
Features
The CRAFT features smart illumination, with backlighting that detects hands and adjusts to lighting conditions, while proprietary buttons above the insert/home/page up keys let you switch between three connected devices. The dial on the top–left corner is touch sensitive, so you can tap or turn it to adjust settings depending on the application.
Performance
The keycaps have a shallow depression and feel nice to touch. Finger fatigue wasn’t an issue, and the angle feels just right when sat at a computer desk. The proximity sensors do a great job of illuminating the layout, so you’re never squinting in the dark for the right key. Battery life disappointed at just eight days on average, though.
Controls
Switching between an iPad mini 4, iPhone X, and MacBook using the pairing keys was seamless and worked every time. Logitech’s CRAFT software profiles made the rotary dial a moderately useful input tool in Adobe CC for changing things like brush and font size, but we preferred to set it to access global Mac controls, like screen zoom and brightness.
