They say old habits are hard to break. But new habits can be just as hard to make. This is where Habitify for Mac might be able to help (it’s also on iPhone, iPad, and Watch). It has a clean, simple interface for creating habits, and a focus on flexible schedules and the abiltity to track your progress.

It’s easy to get started and add some habits to cultivate, such as exercise twice a week, read daily, or eat a certain number of vegetables. Habitify offers useful options for repeating habits such as every day, a few days a week, weekdays and weekends, or even a custom time frame.

Habitify also has a unique concept of separating habits out by periods of the day. You can view all habits for the entire day, or focus on your morning habits of “exercise” and “walk the dog.” This way, “read for 10 minutes” won’t bother you until the afternoon when you can tackle it.

A good set of progress charts helps to track your habit completion over time, charting which ones you are most successful at. Overall, Habitify is a deceptively simple but great way to become a better person.

the bottom line. A good app with a simple design. Some extra touches could make it excel.
