Netatmo Weather Station
The most options, inside or out
This was a difficult selection: all three of these sensors have their own unique plus points. You can’t argue with the Degree’s display, for example, and the sensitivity of SensorPush’s HT1 Smart Sensor is second to none. But then they all have their notable negatives, as well.
Overall, in the specific context of making your home smarter and your environment better, and despite it not yet integrating into the HomeKit platform — come on, Netatmo! — we had to give the win to Netatmo’s Weather Station.
Really, it’s a winner because of its potential. You can use it like a thermostat, automating your other kit based on temperature triggers. You could, with the right fan installed, automate ventilation (or at least change the color of your lights) when the carbon dioxide levels get too high. And it’s even possible to use the Weather Station in a security context; set its sound sensor to trigger a notification or email to your phone when you’re out, and you can be alerted to suspicious noise — you can even select the decibel level.
All this plus, let’s face it, those are some gorgeous looks.
