HOW TO Install apps from the App Store on watchOS 6
1 Go to the Store
The new Apple Watch App Store lives in the same part of your Watch as your other apps. From any watch face, press the Digital Crown to see your apps; tap and slide until you see the App Store icon. Tap it to start shopping.
2 Scroll to see
The App Store for the Apple Watch is more stripped–back than its desktop or iPadOS siblings because its got less screen space to play with. You can type in what you’re looking for in Search, or scroll to see what’s available.
3 Find an app
As on other Apple platforms, the App Store on your Apple Watch has featured apps to help you discover some of the more interesting and useful ones. Just tap the title to see what it contains. To install an app, tap on Get.
4 Enter password
You’ll need to authorize your purchase. If you haven’t set a Watch passcode you have two options before your app will install: enter the App Store password via the Watch’s scribble pad, or go to your iPhone and enter it there.
5 Do it on your Phone
If you have a complex App Store password — which you should! — then you might find your iPhone’s keyboard a better option for entering your App Store password. Once you tap Return, go back to your Watch.
6 Install the app
You’ll now see the progress dial (as you would on iPhone or iPad), with one crucial difference: the installation is much slower, even when apps are relatively small. When installation is complete, you’ll see the Open button.
7 Find the app icon
Your newly installed app will appear with all the other app icons, and you can zoom the view in or out by rotating the Digital Crown. To re–order the apps, tap and hold any one of them until all of the app icons start to wiggle.
8 Delete apps
Tapping and holding an app also enables you to delete it from your Watch: you can remove some Apple ones, but not key system ones such as Messages. If an app can be removed, you’ll see an X in the top left corner.
9 Not on your phone
There’s still an App Store icon in the Watch app on iPhone, but it’ll stop working once you’ve upgraded your Watch to watchOS 6 or later. The option is still visible in the app but the store is replaced with a placeholder image.
