KEEP ON TRUCKIN’

-

First of all, I hope you are all doing well and staying safe. I don’t know about you, but the last few months have been the strangest period of my life. Chances are, like me, you’re stuck at home wondering what the heck you can do to keep yourself busy while this all blows over. Get reading, I say!

Thankfully, making magazines is just as possible to do remotely as it is from an office space, so the hard work continues here on Mac|Life, albeit from my back bedroom, far away from noisy and unruly children who are also stuck at home at this present time.

As well as sacrificing my place of work, I’ve also had to make another small sacrifice: For the next few issues, while this is all going on, I’ve slightly reduced the page count by eight. This is to ensure our survival in these tough times, so we can continue to deliver to you the best Mac magazine there is. This might seem like a bombshell, but the good news is you probably won’t notice the demise of these pages. I’ve made the decision to temporarily drop the smart home section (Home Life), Crave, and a few reviews pages — hardly major, but obviously worth mentioning. Luckily, what remains is still everything you love about

Mac|Life, and why you continue to support us: The best features, how–to and help guides, and expert reviews that help you get more from your Apple devices. If you decide to go the digital route for instant access, I’m temporarily throwing in an extra feature to make up for this, because it doesn’t cost us much more to do this.

Speaking of great content, this issue is an absolute highlight in the calendar. First of all there’s the main feature this issue showing you how to get to grips with iCloud, so you can properly manage all your files and devices, wherever you are (at home, I expect). The second feature this month reveals all the hidden goodies in iOS 13 and iPadOS, so you can make your iPhone or iPad work better, whether it’s taking photos, accessing apps, and much more. And don’t forget to check out our iPad 10–year anniversary feature (p6); it’s a great read to while away the hours.
