Pro Camera by Moment is a camera app for iOS that provides far more extensive manual controls than those in Apple’s Camera app. It’s aimed at more professional shooters but also keen amateurs who want to fully utilize iOS hardware. Version 3 saw enhancements in the field of RAW support, and now version 4 goes further. A major new feature is Timelapse Mode, where you set a shooting interval with the camera mounted on a tripod, and optionally a preset number of frames, and the app shows you the length of the sequence. The result can be exported as a video file.
Slow Shutter mode, which lets you make motion trails, now gains full manual controls, and these are also available in interval and bracketing modes. Bracketing during time–lapse shooting lets you create HDR sequences, though this does require export to a desktop app capable of working with HDR projects. You can shoot RAW files, and however many cameras your iPhone has — one, two, or three on the 11 Pro — can be used by the app. Video is still well supported, again with full manual controls, audio level metering and now easy 4K video export, which is available on all recent devices that support 4K shooting. (Some app features require an iPhone 6 Plus or later.) There is much here to love, though it’s a paid upgrade from version 3 without necessarily having a killer new feature to warrant the cost for some users.
