Searching question (2)

-

Being ancient, I actually attended a weekend camp in the woods of Marin dealing with folks in Birkenstocks learning about the multiple unit 1970s Apples complete with the 7.5– inch floppy discs. My first purchase was a Macintosh, as seen during the famous Super Bowl commercial, and I used it and various printers to produce 19 trifold mailers to start an industrial distribution business, ultimately ending up with five California and Nevada locations and over 70 employees.

To this day I’m still an Apple fan and Mac|Life subscriber and miss Moscone Center. As to my question: is the digital version’s content archived and searchable, allowing users access to solve Mac problems? By the way, thanks for your use of serif type, it seems like many magazines don’t understand it’s readability purpose.

It’s frustrating for both you, the readers, and the Mac|Life team that we can’t offer this functionality to be able to search within all previous issues just yet. Rest assured, an update from our development team is in the works, and at some point in the coming months we will be able to add the ability to do this, along with some other useful features, so keep your eyes peeled. As to the use of the serif typeface (it’s actually called Merriweather, if you really must know), we pride ourselves in making the magazine as legible as possible, because we know how hard it can be to read text at times, although we do use a sans serif typeface too, just to mix things up a bit of course. We also try to avoid particularly tricky colors to read against, but it’s not always possible — sometimes style has to have a say, too!
