HOW TO Get creative with workflows

-

Create custom icons

Make your device your own by changing its app icons. First, search for “free iOS icons” in your browser and download a set to your device. Now create a new shortcut and find Open App from the search bar. Choose which app will be opened. Tap the “…” button and tap Add to Home Screen. Tap the icon next to the name and select Choose Photo. Find an image on your device and tap Choose. Enter the app name as you want it to look on your Home screen, then Add. Now give your shortcut a name and tap Done, then Done again.

Save images to a folder

Move an image to a folder of your choice with this shortcut. Create a shortcut, tap Add Action, then choose Find Photos from the search bar. Tap Add Filter and leave it as “Album is Recents.” Change the sort method to Time Taken, Latest First. Tap “+” and add Select Photos from the search. Under Show More, only include images and turn on Select Multiple. Finally, tap “+” and choose “Save to Photo Album” from the search. Change Recents to your desired album.

Change appearance

Want to change your iPhone’s appearance in a flash? Here, we can create a workflow that will let you turn Dark Mode on or off and set a new wallpaper without needing to manually delve into the Settings app. Create a new shortcut and add an action for Set Appearance. Tap Turn and change it to Ask Each Time. Now add the Find Photos action. Under the “Album is” filter, tap Recents and select your wallpaper folder. Add a new action for Set Wallpaper. If you want, tap Lock Screen, Home Screen and change it to Ask Each Time.
