HOW TO Master Music on Apple Watch
Open the app
The fastest way to move music to your Apple Watch is in the Watch app on your iPhone. In My Watch, scroll down until you see Music and tap on it. You’ll now see this screen, which lists what music, if any, is on your Watch.
Bring the noise
When you’ve transferred your tunes, press the Digital Crown on your Apple Watch and navigate to the Music app. Tap it and it’ll open and show your music, in this case the playlist we’ve transferred across from our iPhone.
Get in the queue
The same restrictions apply to downloads; nothing happens until you’re connected to Wi–Fi and your Watch is being charged. If you’re out, the song, artist or playlist will be added to the download queue for later.
Pick a playlist
Tap on Add Music and you can now browse your playlists, artists and albums. When you’ve found something that you want to add to your Watch, tap on the “+” towards the top right of the screen to queue it for downloading.
Add some more
Transferring from your phone is fast, but what if you’re out, listening to an absolute banger and want to save that to your Watch so you can listen offline to that too? No problem. Find the song in Music and tap on ‘…’.
Transfer the tunes
We’re back home, our Apple Watch is connected to Wi–Fi and is being charged. Our download queue will now start to transfer the songs, and as you can see there’s a progress ring in the lower right–hand corner.
Power up
To save battery life, your Watch won’t copy music across unless it’s being charged. When it is connected you’ll see the little progress ring as your playlist, album or selection is transferred across to your Watch.
Install the ABBA
You can do multiple things here, including adding a song or album to a playlist. The Download option copies the music to the storage on your Watch. Here, we’re going to make sure we always have access to ABBA.
Back to the app
Open the Music section of the Watch app on your iPhone, and you’ll see that the download appears in the library here. To remove downloaded music, tap Edit in the top right–hand corner, then on the red Delete button.
