HOW TO Build a personaliz­ed Fitness Workout

1 Open Fitness+

With iOS 17 and a Fitness+ subscripti­on, you can create a Custom Plan using the various exercises on offer to look after your fitness. First of all, open the iPhone’s Fitness app, and tap the Fitness+ icon at the bottom of the screen.

2 Build your plan

Tap the Build Your Plan link in the Custom Plans section of the Fitness+ front page. Tap the days you want to work out; these are then circled in green. To cancel a day again, tap it once more and the green circle is removed.

3 Workout length

How long do you want your workouts to last? Tap the time next to Total Time Per Day (this is set to 30 minutes by default) and choose a length from between 10 minutes and 90 minutes from the menu that pops up.

4 Program length

How long do you want this particular workout program to last? By default, this is set to a four–week duration, but if you tap the option next to “Length of Plan”, you can change it to between two and eight weeks to suit.

5 Choose activities

Now it’s time to choose the activities you want to include during your workouts. You can select up to five, but if you choose more than will fit into your chosen time period, you will have to increase the duration of your workouts.

6 Review plan

Tap Review Plan, and take a look at what you’ve created. Choose on which date the workout starts, and tap an individual workout to change between activities, adjust the time and more. Customize it to suit your needs.

7 Trainers and music

When you’re happy with your plan, tap on Trainers and choose which trainers you’d like to have helping you while you work out. Tap Music to choose which genres you like to listen to during your exercise sessions.

8 Create plan

When you’re done choosing, tap Create Plan. You return to the Fitness+ front page, with Your Plan listed at the top of the screen. Today’s exercise is shown. When you’re ready to work out, tap the Let’s Go button.

9 Delete plan

If for any reason you want to delete your plan, open the Fitness app, tap Fitness+ and tap View Plan. Tap the “…” in the top–right of the screen, and tap End Plan on the menu. You can build and start a new one any time.
