WOMEN IN DESIGN COLLOQUIUM

LAUNCESTON, FRIDAY TO SUNDAY This annual gathering is for both established and emerging female designers. Now in its third year, these dynamic meetings create a supportive environment where women in design can discuss their work, its processes, and how it can bring about positive outcomes. This year’s topic is Design for Social Engagement. By taking part, emerging female design professionals will be introduced to mentors for future projects and careers. Cost is $120 to $310. SYDNEY WRITERS’ FESTIVAL

STATE CINEMA, FRIDAY TO SUNDAY Streaming live from Walsh Bay in Sydney, the entire program of the Sydney Writers’ Festival will bring some of the world’s finest authors to the State Cinema via the livestreaming project Live & Local. Audiences will have the chance to participate in Q&A sessions at each event by sending questions via text message. Tickets are $15.
