MT PLEASANT RADIO TELESCOPE OBSERVATORY

DENHOLMS RD, CAMBRIDGE, TODAY, 10AM-4PM Budding astronomers take note: the annual observatory open day is on today. Go along for a fun, family-friendly day of science experiments and for an insider’s view of the workings of the telescope. Kids can enjoy a host of five to 10-minute 3D movies on astronomy and geodesy; tastings of liquidnitrogen ice-cream (at 10.30am, noon and 2pm); a bottle-flipping competition; and a Lego robot display.
