JIMMY BARNES

MUSICIAN

-

I was happiest when ... I woke up this morning. I’m happy to be alive and doing what I love. Happy to be surrounded by my family. You wouldn’t know it but ... I’m a pretty good cook. My most embarrassing

moment … there are too many embarrassing moments to pick just one. Last night at a party, I was struggling to remember the people I had met over the years in this group. I decided to be proactive, and I walked to a couple I thought I knew and said, “Long time no see” to which they replied, “I don’t believe we have ever met”. I then took both feet out of my mouth and walked sheepishly away. The last time

I cried was … when my dog had to go to hospital for an emergency operation. The last book I read was … The Scottish Enlightenment by Arthur Herman. My favourite films are … The Godfather, Blade Runner and The Producers (original 1967 film). I really want to … spend more time at home. My guilty pleasure is … drinking gallons of unhomogenised cream milk from Fleurieu Peninsula with a big slab of shortbread, when everybody is asleep. Life’s taught me … you’ve got to be ready to change if you want to survive. My first job was … pumping petrol in a garage. Meet Jimmy Barnes at a book signing for Working Class
