KATIE ROBERTSON

ACTOR

-

I was happiest when ... I found out John Farnham was playing at Falls Festival this year. You wouldn’t know it but ... put me in a room full of people and the social anxiety will swallow me whole. My most embarrassing moment ... Too many to choose from! I’m rather good at making a fool of myself. The last time I cried was ... Today. I’m pregnant! And very emotional. The last book I read was ... The Divided Heart by Rachel Power. It’s a collection of essays written by Australian artists on the balance between motherhood and creativity. My favourite films are ... Working Girl, Happy-Go-Lucky, Lars and The Real Girl, As It Is In Heaven. I really want to ... do more travelling! There’s so much more of the world I’d like to see. My guilty pleasure is ... No guilt! Only pleasures. Of which I have many. Peanut Butter Pretzels are currently at the top of my list. Life has taught me ... To take a few deep breaths and just enjoy the present. I’m about to ... take my second nap for the day. That’s what days off are for, right? My first job was ... at Subway! I was a very diligent sandwich “artist”. My most memorable work related moment is … I think it will be hard to top this current experience working on Constellations. I go to work each day with dear friends who inspire and challenge me creatively and I get to perform with my fiancé on the most beautiful play I’ve ever read. All while growing a tiny human in my belly! It’s a very special time. What I enjoy most about my work is … It’s genuinely fun. Especially the hard stuff.

See Katie Robertson perform in Constellations, a love story which incorporates everything from physics and euthanasia to beekeeping and ballroom dancing, produced by the Tasmanian Theatre Company, at the Hobart Brewing Company until September 14. Tickets from $15-$49 at tastheatre.com
