LEE KERNAGHAN

- MUSICIAN

I was happiest when … I was there for the birth of my two boys Jet and Rock. Miracles happen. You would not know it but … I didn’t get my first kiss until 17 … but I’ve made up for it since. My most embarrassing moment … falling off stage at the Casino RSM (Returned Servicemen’s Memorial) Club. The last time I cried was … when I sold my ‘79 series LandCruiser ute and watched it disappearing down my drive and out of my life. The last book I read was … Becoming Supernatural by Dr Joe Dispenza. My favourite films are … Interstellar (Matthew McConaughey), Frequency (Dennis Quaid), Saving Private Ryan (Tom Hanks), The Water Diviner (Russell Crowe), What Dreams May Come (Robin Williams) and everything Clint Eastwood does. I want to … walk the Kokoda Track. My guilty pleasure is … absinthe. Life has taught me … we all come in, we all go out, it’s what we do in between that counts. I’m about to … hit the road on the Backroad Nation Tour. My first job was … playing piano in Dad’s band. My most memorable work-related moment is … recording with the king of country, Slim Dusty. What I enjoy most about work is … travelling Australia, playing music I love and catching up with legendary people on the way.
