MANDY LOWRIE

- PERFORMER

I am happiest when … my family are all healthy and having a laugh. You wouldn’t know it but … I am really shy, love to garden and am a real homebody. My most embarrassing moment … at the end of a vigorous dance class I was chatting to a dad who had a quick question about his daughter, without realising I had sustained a garment malfunction. One of ‘the girls’ had left the secure space of my bra cup, leaving one facing north and the other facing south. The last time I cried was … when I saw the amazing musical Come From Away in Melbourne recently. The last book I read was … The Secret Seven series by Enid Blyton, with my eight-year-old son. My favourite films are … I lined up for every Harry Potter movie with my children. Also Silence of the Lambs, Must Love Dogs and Something’s Gotta Give. I really want to … raise healthy and happy children. My guilty pleasure is … chocolate, of course, and Netflix. Life has taught me … to get up, dust yourself off and try to appreciate the little things along the way. There are no guarantees. I’m about to … eat lunch. My first job was … in Connor’s Department Store, as a sales assistant, while in Grade 9. My most memorable work-related moment is … teaching dance at Jenina’s Dance Workshop and receiving a joyous hug from a six-year-old dancer when they performed their first solo in a dance eisteddfod. What I enjoy most about my work is … traversing that hurdle of preperformance nerves.

Mamma Mia!
