Swans big guns ready to come out firing

SYDNEY Swans forwards Lance Franklin and Kurt Tippett are rested and raring to return from suspension against Brisbane tomorrow.

Franklin and Tippett, Sydney’s two leading goalkickers, each missed last Thursday’s AFL win over Port Adelaide.

“We did pretty well without them, but it will be good for them to get back in and they are pretty fresh and ready to go,” Swans defender Jeremy Laidler said yesterday.

“I suppose it wasn’t a bad thing having a rest midyear. They are biting at the bit to get back out there.”

They are expected to be joined by veteran fullback Ted Richards, who suffered concussion in the Port Adelaide game.

The veteran defender was named in Sydney’s initial 25man squad.
