- JESSICA HOWARD

TASMANIAN businesses, including Bridestowe Lavender Estate and others involved in wine and spirit production, fruit, aquaculture, agribusiness and education have joined the State Government on a trade mission in Japan.

The two day TasInvest 2017 expo in Tokyo finishes today and will give high level Japanese investors an opportunity to learn about Tasmanian investment opportunities, as well as sample some of the state’s produce.

Deputy Premier Jeremy Rockliff said the expo aimed to capitalise on the Japan-Australia Economic Partnership Agreement and to showcase Tasmania’s capabilities.

“Participants will have the opportunity to learn about Tasmania’s economic, cultural and environmental strengths and specifically investment opportunities,” Mr Rockliff said.

TasInvest will include a forum, high level governmentto-government meetings, investment information sessions on agribusiness, renewable energy and tourism and a gala Tasmanian food and beverage event with more than 100 Japanese guests.
