Skillern retains the helm

TASMANIA’S peak farming body has reappointe­d Peter Skillern as its chief executive and called for nomination­s for its executive committee.

The Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Associatio­n announced Mr Skillern would continue to lead the organisati­on for another two years.

TFGA president Wayne Johnston said that the board was unanimous in its decision to re-sign Mr Skillern.

“We would like to congratula­te Peter on his financial management, and leadership of our TFGA team, as well as his excellent advocacy on behalf of the agricultur­al sector,’’ Mr Johnston said.

“We look forward to working with him to build a strong future for Tasmanian farmers.”

Written nomination­s for the 10 executive committee member positions are to be with the Returning Officer no later than 12pm on May 5.
