Bombers loaded for their strike on Roos

- ADAM SMITH

UNBEATEN North Launceston has called in plenty of firepower for its top of the table State League clash with Clarence at Blundstone Arena tomorrow.

The Bombers will head to Hobart brimming with confidence having brushed aside premier Glenorchy a fortnight ago, and have welcomed back four big inclusions for the showdown with the Roos.

Mariners brothers Tyran and Rhyan Mansell return from under-18s duties, while mobile big man Lewie Hollmer and wingman Tom Donnelly have been added after sitting out last week’s victory against Tigers.

Clarence regains a Mariner of its own in Tyson Hanslow, but has added Matthew Ling and Shane Bradford to a growing injury list.

“Our injury list is starting to get a little bit long at this stage of the year, so the bye next week and then the state bye has come at a pretty good time for us,” coach Jeromey Webberley said.

“Zac Beuchner . . . got invited to the Allies squad, which is great for Zac but a little bit detrimental for us.”

Josh Williams and Michael Anderton return to Lauderdale’s line-up for its home contest against Burnie, with the duo offsetting the loss of Blake Newell, who looks headed for an extended period on the sidelines with a broken scaphoid.

Despite applying for a clearance for ruckman Jason Laycock earlier in the week, the Dockers did not obtain the former premiership big man, who now plays with New Norfolk in the SFL.

Tigers will be boosted by the return of several Mariners for its must-win game against Devonport at Twin Ovals.

Toby Cowen, state underage skipper Lachlan Clifford and Lachlan Gadomski are now all back for club duties, with Jack Pearce, Brady Rees and Tobheas Gogolin rounding out six inclusions.

Glenorchy has named Zac Webster among four inclusions for its trip to Windsor Park, though the ex-Hawk is no certainty to return from injury.

Tyler Bowden has served his twomatch suspension while Harry Pearce and Harrison Gunther are back from the Mariners. Key Blue Hamish Leedham headlines Launceston’s ins after the ruckman was a late withdrawal against Hobart City last week.
