Industry-rejected baloney
TO think this divisive, environmentally destructive, uneconomic, industry-rejected crap legislation has got one ounce of traction defies logic. If the Speaker was doing her job, she would have privately lobbied her leader to save the party from the embarrassment and political backlash of this cringe-worthy debate.
Courting controversy
IF Nick Kyrgios had gone public with the same draconian opinion of same sex relationships/marriage as Margaret Court, would that be accepted as “his opinion” without any uproar? Margaret Court is using her celebrity to push her opinion, attacking a peer in the process, not acceptable.
Look elsewhere
I SUGGEST we investigate the cities of smart Scandinavian countries such as Oslo, Helsinki, Reykjavik, Stockholm and Copenhagen when considering developments such as the Fragrance Hotels. These cities provide a much more appropriate model for Hobart, with small populations and maritime beauty, compared to Fragrance Hotel’s models such as Singapore, New York, Hong Kong and Guangzhou.
Double fault
MARGARET Court has the right to her values and should be free to express her opinion. Our Anzacs fought for this freedom in the last two world wars. Many gave their lives so we could speak with conviction, without fear of persecution and intolerance from those who demand the same for themselves, but don’t believe anyone who disagrees with them should have the same liberty.
