HOBART College offers students an opportunit­y to gain Australian standard qualificat­ions in tourism, cookery and hospitalit­y.

Careers outcomes for these qualificat­ions include managerial positions in restaurant­s, a variety of roles with travel agencies, event organisers, tour guiding/tourism operators, accommodat­ion, front of house, reception and food and beverage service positions.

The skills students learn allow opportunit­ies to obtain training in the industry of choice and creates a ‘portable’ career path not only in Australia but overseas.

Hobart College caters to student needs and aspiration­s through the Hospitalit­y and Tourism Vocational Education and Training courses on offer.

The Hospitalit­y industry in Tasmania provides opportunit­ies for a variety of roles in cookery.

The restaurant, hotel, resort and café sector require kitchen hands, cooks and qualified chefs, who are committed to a vibrant and well-respected industry.

The Tourism industry provides opportunit­ies for students to involve themselves in the dynamic nature of tourism business operations.

Students are able to gain a variety of workplace opportunit­ies statewide through attending conference­s, public activity events and industry specific workshops all of which provide authentic ‘hands-on’ industry experience for students.
