ARMED with a new album and new live show, Sydney hip-hop duo Horrorshow hit Hobart tomorrow night.

After meeting at high school, producer Adit and vocalist Solo wasted no time starting work on their debut album, The Grey Space, which was released in 2008 to great acclaim.

By the time they put out their second album, Inside Story, in 2009, Horrorshow had won over a growing legion of fans and were being stamped as future leaders of the Aussie hip-hop scene.

By 2011 they were sharing stages with heavyweigh­ts such as the Hilltop Hoods and Bliss n Eso.

Two years later, their third album, King Amongst Many, peaked at No.2 on the ARIA charts and went on to be nominated for the J Award, an ARIA Award and the prestigiou­s Australian Music Prize, with lead single Dead Star Shine earning a spot in Triple J’s Hottest 100.

Horrorshow are also known for their work as part of Australian hip-hop supergroup One Day, alongside members of Spit Syndicate, Jackie Onassis and Joyride.

One Day’s album Mainline — featuring the Hottest 100chartin­g single Love Me Less — hit No.2 on the ARIA charts in mid-2014.

In February this year Horrorshow returned with their long-awaited fourth album Bardo State, which has gone down well with fans and critics alike.

The Music called it “sophistica­ted, sexy and thrilling”, while Rolling Stone said the album sees Horrorshow “elevate their sound to a higher plane”.

To launch Bardo State, Horrorshow have set off on their biggest Australian tour to date, unveiling a new set and stage show as they perform at some of the country’s best live venues.

They play at the Republic Bar in North Hobart from 10pm tomorrow, with New Zealand hip-hop star David Dallas and Canberra rapper Turquoise Prince. Tickets are $30 (plus booking fee) pre-sale from the venue and
