Loss defies belief
THE latest report in the Minutes of the Kingborough Council is that the project that they are proposing for the old Kingborough High School site, (which they still have not paid for owing $1,350,000 to the State Treasury) tells the ratepayers of Kingston that the project will lose $5 million at the end of the project. According to the report this is considered to be the best outcome. I was so thrilled when I read this statement. Imagine that the Council is planning to waste $5 millions of ratepayer funds due to their incompetence. The Ratepayers have a lot to be thankful for (not) at Kingborough, that is rapidly turning into the new Glenorchy and well deserves its label as the most poorly financially managed council in Tasmania. timetables and bus routes this convenience disappeared overnight. Being an aged pensioner, I never catch a bus directly from my home to the city anymore because the service was changed from half hourly to hourly. I now drive my car to town for medical and other appointments, adding to the traffic congestion.
Ferals cats a menace
IF cats ate crops, the government wouldn’t hesitate to implement an effective strict cat management program.
Our iconic wildlife is precious and must be protected also, especially from cats. Cat owners, by keeping your pets contained you are keeping them and the wildlife they destroy safe.
The government should show greater incentive by making the desexing of cats cheaper.
Unchecked breeding leads to the cruel dumping of cats with all its horrible consequences.
Straw man rejected
JEREMY Rockliff is once again totally misinformed by his spin doctors. (Talking Point, July 18).
I’ve not heard one group say they wanted the salmon industry shut down. The call is to clean it up and stop trashing Tasmania’s brand.
I’m one of those people Jeremy, once a lifetime Liberal voter: until the Okehampton Bay debacle.
