Appeasing the extreme Right

SAME-SEX MARRIAGE

-

WHAT part of the word “no” does our Federal Government not understand? It has already tried and failed to hold a plebiscite. It should drop the idea. The plebiscite is only still on the table in a feeble attempt to appease the extreme Right of the Coalition. We elect politicians to pass laws, so now is the time for them to show some decency and compassion and put same-sex marriage, a basic human right, to a free vote so we can legalise it and move on. David Luttrell Glenorchy intellectual debate on this matter. Let us all uphold the traditional, natural and proven value to society of marriage as it has been exemplified by the majority of Australians through our history.

Encourage our fellow Australians to keep true to our past, remain faithful to all married couples and give clarity and confidence to future generations with regard this momentous issue of the real meaning and purpose of human sexuality.

Love is not primarily to do with legislation. Liberty is not licence!

Claremont were physically forced to change hands and write right-handed (left arm was tied to their torso).

The late middle-English term “sinister” derives from the Latin “sinistra”, meaning left, which then morphed into other meanings such as “evil”, “malicious”, “underhand”. So this harmful, cruel practice was driven by centuries of prejudice.

All right-minded (sic) people do not hold sway over left-handedness.

The same is true for individual choice and freedoms. It’s a fundamental right. Mick Bendor
