LEADERSHIP report card for Malcolm Turnbull: same-sex marriage, fail; climate change, fail; refugees, fail; better conditions for workers, fail; lower energy prices, fail; Australia’s standing as a caring, compassionate country, fail.

Bankers behind bars

POLICE arrested some of the Ibrahim family for money laundering so when will they arrest those at the Commonwealth Bank? Or is it a world of double standards?

Paramedics excellent

I CALLED Ambulance Tasmania in the early hours one morning to take my ill wife to hospital. I wish to record the excellent service, care and professionalism by the treating paramedics. I do not have their names, but they were a credit to a service that is a part of our healthcare system often receiving criticism. We are lucky to have a great service.

Council no defence

THE town and streetscape report commissioned by Hobart council concluded that developments should “not affect the views of Mt Wellington, not be individually prominent and not dominate the CBD”. The HCC holds itself up to derision by defending the appalling 211m-high carbuncle on Davey St. Hobart residents deserve better.

No high-rise deals

PUBLIC disapproval for Fragrance Tower is high. Pressure is on to stay with current planning heights. Planning Minister Peter Gutwein, publicly rule out special deals.

Poor chap

HOBART City Council removed the bus shelter on our street which was night-time shelter for a homeless gentleman. Not up to standard.

Too long

TASMANIANS deserve better. As usual we see more rhetoric and talk with no real advance. Why does Peter Gutwein continue with his meandering instead of sacking the Glenorchy City Council? Ratepayers have had enough of this stage show for far too long.
