SENATOR LARISSA WATERS (GREENS): Resigned after she was deemed a Canadian citizen by birth.

IN THE BALANCE

SENATOR MATT CANAVAN (NATIONALS): Resigned as Resources Minister pending High Court decision over his eligibility. His mother applied for Italian citizenship on his behalf.

SENATOR MALCOLM ROBERTS (ONE NATION): Referred to the High Court after documents revealed he was at one time a British citizen. Court must rule on whether he took reasonable steps to renounce it ahead of the 2016 election.

DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER BARNABY JOYCE (NATIONALS): New Zealand Government has confirmed the Nationals leader is a Kiwi by virtue of his father, James Joyce, who was born in Dunedin in 1924. Mr Joyce has referred himself to the High Court. Legal advice from the Solicitor-General is he should be eligible to remain in Parliament.
