Appalling treatment
IF there was anybody left believing that our Prime Minister and his Coalition had any regard for the wellbeing of the refugees on the Pacific Islands they certainly know better now. Malcolm Turnbull, with his forked tongue, misled the nation about his infamous phone call with Donald Trump. He seriously said that the US did not need to take any of the already traumatised people who have been kept under appalling conditions for years at high costs to Australian taxpayers. It was only that he wanted to be seen to do something.
They are people with families and friends and an expectation of a peaceful, dignified life. They shouldn’t be used as a political football and an image massaging device for the Coalition Government.
