FUN, fun, and more fun is forecast for families throughout today’s Super Sidewalk Saturday celebrations in Hobart.

The day’s exciting program of events will feature special appearances from Captain Barnacles and The Octopod Rescue from ABC television’s the Octonauts, as well as performances by Exitleft’s Scallywags, party fun with Makebelieve, stilt walkers and face painters from 11am to 2pm.

During the Octonaut’s show, Captain Barnacles will lead all the Octocadets on an exciting adventure to save the day, with two shows in the Elizabeth Mall at 11.30am and 1.35pm.

The little ones will also have the opportunity for a meet and greet with the underwater hero from 12.30pm to 1pm at Wellington Court. Back again to get the crowd moving and singing along are one of Tas- mania’s children’s wags.

Scallywags proved a huge hit with the crowds during last year’s event as they lit up the main stage in the Elizabeth Mall with original songs and dances.

Other highlights of the entertainment program will include roving unicyclists and walking statues who will make their way around the city centre.

The acts and entertainment are not just for the children as Dan Brown DJ is set to blast out tunes in Collins Court, and musical performances throughout the city are set to engage young and old, while young musicians will showcase their talent at the City of Hobart’s Youth Arts and Recreation Centre in Victoria Street.
