They’ve been touring lately as Kernaghan’s backing band, but The Wolfe Brothers are now set to embark on their own headline tour, which starts in their home state this week. With the band’s Tasmanian shows always selling out in advance, Rainbird encouraged fans to get in quick or risk missing out.

“Longley is the one that always sells out the quickest,” he said.

“It’s literally five minutes from where I grew up and five minutes down the road from the Wolfes’ farm, so it holds a special place in our hearts. It’s where we did some of our first gigs ever as a band, and we still play there and it’s really cool. It always packs out, and it’s a great afternoon.”

The Tasmanian leg of The Wolfe Brothers’ national tour, which also features performances by Gold Coast singer-songwriter Straalen, begins in Burnie tomorrow night with a show at The Cinema from 8pm. They also play at Hotel Tasmania in Launceston from 8pm on Saturday.

Later this month, they play at the Queenstown Memorial Hall from 8pm on September 23, and finally at the Longley International Hotel from 2pm on September 24.
