Seals hungry, not plunderers

AQUACULTURE

- Wayne Bell South Hobart Lin Ashton Acton Park Evan Evans Lindisfarne Paul Hutchens Kingston

LOCAL fishers and Tassal, it’s time to join the 21st century. Seals are not menaces or plunderers of fish stocks. References to them as so is comparable to Japan’s stated views that minke whales are parasites of the sea. Our oceans are dying because of over-fishing and the greedy killing of fish species vital for the survival of seals and other ocean species. Let’s hope that seal relocation dumping does not also include shooting the seals as local fishers are known for.

The only measures which urgently require reducing are marine farms, the consumers of these products and a profiteering government. Leave the seals alone. break. There’s Laborials and Liborials trying to avoid voting Green, but currently that’s the only option. from disease, physiological problems and nutritional deficiencies which weaken their immune system, resulting in systematic use of antibiotics. Marco Vindas, Royal Society of Open Science, stated “physiologically speaking, they are on the edge of what they can tolerate, and since they remain in this environment, they end up dying because of their condition.” Aquaculture can cause fish to suffer from poor water quality, making it hard to breathe, while farmed fish are susceptible to sea lice. Fish are sentient like all vertebra, and subsequently feel pain.

Yes and no

I RECEIVED my same-sex marriage survey ballot in the mail. The choices were very discriminatory. There was not an option for both Yes and No. I think most thinking Australians would prefer ‘a bit of both’ for this question, yes for loving couples but no for the fattening of lawyers’ wallets in the lawfare against free speech that will inevitably follow.

More than marriage

MARRIAGE is not just about two people. It never was and never will be. Marriages make families and families make societies. Voting Yes is not voting for equality, there already is equality. Voting Yes is not voting for love, there already is love. Voting Yes is voting to change the fabric of our society: yes to children not being raised by biological parents; yes to children not having the benefit of a mum and dad; yes to children being taught gender is fluid. This is why my vote is No.
