Tassie dates share Big Love around

-

POPULAR North-West act The Sheyana Band are getting plenty of love for their new album, which they’ll introduce to Hobart fans this weekend.

The Sheyana Band — Sheyana Wijesingha (vocals, guitar), Scott Mainwaring (guitar), Dan Jeffrey (bass) and Beau Thomas (drums) — have shared stages with the likes of Neil Finn, Meg Mac, Diesel, The Angels and Ian Moss and have received international recognition and airplay, with their single Keep

the Change reaching No. 6 on the Sri Lankan charts in 2015.

Last week The Sheyana Band released their new album

Big Love — a blend of impassioned rock, soulful ballads and contemporary blues that showcases Sheyana’s sultry vocals and Mainwaring’s guitar chops.

Two years in the making, the 14-track album was recorded at Al Future Studios in Hobart and mastered by Grammy winner William Bowden at King Willy Sound. The Sheyana Band has been offered a distribution and publishing deal for the album, with Big Love to be released internationally early next year.

But first, they will perform across Tasmania to launch the album and the it’s first single, title track Big Love. They play at the Longley International Hotel, south of Hobart, from 3.30pm Sunday. Entry free. They will also perform at the Skyfields gig at Burnie’s West Park Oval, October 28, supporting Hoodoo Gurus.
