Help call for Weinstein

- Los Angeles

POLICE have reportedly responded to a call for help from the daughter of disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein after she said her father was suicidal.

Weinstein was arguing with his daughter, Remy, on the street outside her home, a source said.

Video had emerged of him storming out of her home, yelling at waiting paparazzi.

“You’re making it worse,” he says, before trying to get a passing driver to stop and give him a ride.

The NY Daily News reported that the 911 caller had said a man at the Los Angeles address may be suicidal.

“The person said the subject was feeling suicidal and depressed but, when officers got there and conducted their investigation, it was revealed no suicidal remarks were made,” the source said.

The LAPD said officers responded to a call for someone who was suicidal and depressed.

“Remy over-reacted at the situation, out of love and concern for her father, and called the police, telling them he was depressed and suicidal,” a source told The New York Post.

“This situation is of course very hard for Harvey, but he is not suicidal. His heart is breaking for his kids.”

Remy, 22, later said the ar- gument was a family dispute.

Weinstein has said the sexual abuse allegations have left him devastated. “I am profoundly devastated. I have lost my wife and kids, whom I love more than anything else”, the New York Post reported.

His wife, Georgina Chapman, 41, said she was leaving him after news of the allegations broke. Weinstein said he fully supported her decision.

“I didn’t stand in Georgina’s way when we discussed a separation. I encouraged her to do what was in her heart. I know she has to do what is best for the children, for herself and her business. I don’t want her or my children to be hurt any more than they already have. I truly love Georgina, and I hope one day we can reconcile, although right now I don’t know if that could possibly happen.”

Late last week, after the New York Times dropped its story alleging he harassed women over three decades, both Weinstein and Chapman said they were staying together and Georgina was fully supportive of her husband.
