A class act

CHART-TOPPING country singer-songwriter Fanny Lumsden is heading to Tasmania for three shows over the coming week. Last month her second album, Real Class Act, shot straight to No. 1 on the ARIA Country Charts. Lumsden plays at Wynyard’s Wharf Hotel tomorrow night; at Saint John Craft Beer in Launceston from 2pm Sunday (with Blackstone Dukes and Hannah Lawes); and at the Sheffield Town Hall next Wednesday, October 25.

Folk’s finest

THE annual Folk Federation Song and Tune Awards Concert in Hobart on Saturday night will feature performanc­es from more than 20 acts. The concert will be at the Wesley Hall in Melville St, Hobart from 7.30pm Saturday. Tickets $5 at door.

Flamenco fun

LEADING flamenco artists Marina Tamayo and Aitor Hernandez will be in Hobart this weekend to host workshops at the Moonah Arts Centre. Big band beauty

THE Clarence City Big Band presents its Jazz Night on Hobart’s eastern shore on Saturday. The event will feature live performanc­es by the full Clarence City Big Band, smaller combinatio­ns comprised of CCBB members, and special guest act Jazz For Cows.
