Supplement scrapped

- John Jury Claremont

The state Liberal Government is spending $10 million on a $125 energy bonus to pensioners. Do the Liberals really think pensioners will so quickly forget it was the Liberals who this year scrapped Labor’s $365 energy supplement for pensioners? Wheelchair battles

I USE a motorised wheelchair to get around and I find the people being unfair are those who park in a way that prohibits my safe use of the footpath (Letters, October 19). People parking on footpaths make life harder for me as I usually can’t pass and am forced on to the road, which puts me at risk of being hit by a car if I can’t find my way back on to the footpath in time. There is also the problem of people parking across the kerb ramps that allow me to move from the road to the footpath. This attitude of drivers is everywhere. It makes me conclude there is one rule for the privileged and another for the disabled, with the disabled scolded for speaking up about the problems the privileged have created.
