Decide witch way to go

-

ALL roads — especially those of a yellow brick nature — lead to the Musical Theatre Crew’s Junior Ensemble production of The Wizard of Oz in Hobart this week.

Performed by students aged between seven and 13 at the Peacock Theatre from tomorrow, the young performers’ version of The Wizard of Oz lasts for just over an hour and is suitable for all ages.

It follows the classic tale of Dorothy as she travels through the colourful land of Oz in search of the all-powerful wizard who can help her find her way home.

Along the way, she stumbles across a brainless scarecrow, a heartless tinman, and a not-so-fearless lion, who all join her journey.

However, the Wicked Witch of the West has herr eye on Dorothy’s shiny ruby slippers, and won’t let Dorothy leave Oz until she has them.

Memorable songs from the film, including Overer the Rainbow, Ding Dong the Witch is Dead, Follow the Yellow Brick Road and If I only had a Heart are e all set to be performed with gusto. The Wizard of Oz is being performed at the Peacock Theatre from tomorrow until November 5. Tickets to the show are $27, available from musicaltheatrecrew.com
