No manners

- Michael Way Blackmans Bay Donna Revell Sandy Bay Rick Middleton Dodges Ferry

WHERE has the age of basic good manners gone? How often do you see a couple enter a coffee shop and the male obviously has short arms and deep pockets so she has to order and pay while he stands with hands in pockets looking like he doesn’t really want to be there. When the coffee is ready, guess who collects them, not the male. What is wrong with them?

Act on Yes vote

SHOULD the Yes vote prevail on Wednesday, the Parliament must accept the position of the Australian people and move to amend the Marriage Act. The Australian Marriage Law Postal Survey asked whether the law should be changed to allow same-sex couples to marry, it did not seek the opinion of whether further discrimination should apply. Timing is everything

THE ‘God should decide when we die’ mantra is trotted out every time there is a public debate about euthanasia. To those who truly believe the timing of our death should be left in the hands of a wise and loving God, please stop turning up at our over-burdened hospitals for treatment for your life-threatening conditions. TAXI drivers seem to think parking meters are taxi ranks. As a daily visitor I find taxis more often than not parked at parking meters, especially in Liverpool St between Argyle and Elizabeth streets. When asked to move so I can use the meter, they refuse. I made contact with the taxi company and was told ‘taxis pay their rego and insurance too you know’. I have witnessed taxi drivers getting very angry when somebody parks in their taxi ranks.
