Trump’s friendly mission to Kim

-

A DAY after trading barbs with Kim Jong-un, US President Donald Trump changed his tune about the North Korean leader.

At a news conference in Vietnam, Mr Trump said forming a good relationship with Mr Kim is not out of the question.

“Strange things happen in life. That might be a strange thing that happens. But it is certainly a possibility,” Mr Trump said. “If that did happen, it would be a good thing for, I can tell you, for North Korea. But it would also be good for lots of other places, and it would be good for the world.”

Mr Trump made similar comments on Twitter.

“Why would Kim Jong-un insult me by calling me ‘old,’ when I would NEVER call him ‘short and fat?’” he wrote. “Oh well, I try so hard to be his friend — and maybe someday that will happen!”
