Dedication Service: The Wynyard RSL Sub-Branch will be conducting a dedication Service and unveiling plaques recognisin­g all Vietnam Veterans from the local area and thanking them for their service and sacrifice both during and following the Vietnam War. Individual plaques will honour Private Barry Walter Kelly of ‘D’ Company 6RAR who was killed in action by misdirecte­d ‘friendly’ artillery fire on the 6th of February 1967 and Private Francis Hyland of 2 platoon ‘A’ Company 2RAR who died of wounds on the 1st of December 1967 from injuries received from a M16 mine incident the previous day. We would appreciate if any relatives of Barry Kelly could contact wynyardrsl­club@gmail.com as we have had difficulty locating any family. The service will be held at the Wynyard Cenotaph at 1.30pm on Friday the December 1.
