Wolfe it down again

-

AFTER spending most of this year out on the road, homegrown Tassie country rock stars The Wolfe Brothers are coming back to where it all started this weekend, playing a huge outdoor end-of-year show at Richmond.

The Wolfe Brothers are still riding high on the success of their most recent album

This Crazy Life, which hit No.2 on the ARIA country charts and has spawned three No.1 singles — making it 10 consecutive singles that have topped the country charts.

Their latest release, a duet with Australian country legend Lee Kernaghan called Damn Good Mates, is being played on radio stations across the country now.

The Wolfe Brothers have been touring for most of this year, either headlining their own shows, or performing with Kernaghan. They also found time to return to Nashville, where they wrote material for their next album.

Now the Wolfe Brothers are looking forward to sharing those new songs — and all their big hits — with their home-state fans this weekend.

“We are trying to evolve as a band,” lead singer Nick Wolfe says.

“Our goal is to achieve this by giving the audience all the hit songs with some nostalgic covers, but also share some new music with them before we release these songs on the next album.

“It is always very satisfying to get the reaction of the hardcore fans to our new songs. We genuinely like to get them involved in the lead-up to releasing a new album, and there is no better way to do that than to get the fans’ opinion of some new songs.”

The Wolfe Brothers play an outdoor all-ages show at the Richmond Arms Hotel on Saturday. Gates open at noon, and the show ends at 6.30pm. Tickets are $34.70 for adults and $8.20 for children under 12, go to www.oztix.com.au for bookings.

The Wolfe Brothers have also just announced a gig at the Bridge Hotel at Forth on January 6. Tickets are available from www.oztix.com.au
