Justin time to help solve a real mystery

HOBART’S Jokers Comedy Club has booked a big-name act to headline next Wednesday’s show — but their identity is secret, and you’ll have to head along on the night to find out who it is.

Jokers patrons often arrive not knowing much about the comedians on the bill, but next week’s show is a complete leap of faith — even the Jokers’ backstage crew haven’t been told who is performing.

They can, however, reveal that the mystery headliner will be supported by touring US comedian Justin Herman.

A globetrotting television producer, Herman has performed on, written, directed and produced for a number of US television networks, including Comedy Central and TruTV. He is currently a supervising producer on the BET sketch comedy and variety show 50 Central, which is hosted and executive-produced by rapper 50 Cent.

After performing at clubs, theatres and festivals across the US, South Africa, Scandinavia, Germany, Ireland and Estonia, Herman is set to make his Tasmanian live debut next week.

Justin Herman and the mystery headliner will perform for Jokers Comedy Club at The Polish Corner in New Town from 8pm on Wednesday. Tickets are $22 pre-sale available from www.jokerscomedy.com.au and Centertainment (phone 6234 5998), or $25 at the door (if not already sold out).
