Yesterday afternoon, the Lord Mayor Alderman Sue Hickey attended the official opening of the Sandy Bay Retail Precinct and unveiled the new entry statement. Later that afternoon, the Lord Mayor hosted Christmas drinks for the Salamanca Market Stallholders Association at the Town Hall. Yesterday evening at the Town Hall, the Lord Mayor attended and presented certificates at the Community and Cultural Programs Volunteer Reception.

Yesterday morning at Government House, the Governor of Tasmania, Professor the Honourable Kate Warner, and Mr Warner received the Ambassador of the Czech Republic, His Excellency Mr Martin Pohl, together with Mr Jaroslav Simek, Deputy Director of Prague Zoo, and Mrs Milena Mills, Honorary Consul for the Czech Republic. In the afternoon at Legacy House, the Governor and Mr Warner attended the Hobart Legacy Inc Members’ Christmas Luncheon. In the evening at Government House, the Governor and Mr Warner hosted a reception to mark the Centenary of Women in Policing.
