POLICE are investigating a series of overnight burglaries in Hobart’s northern suburbs.

Police said a considerable amount of damage was caused and the men took off with a cash tin.

Just after 3am the same two men broke into Zambrero Restaurant on Main Rd in Moonah, again forcing entry.

Nothing was stolen from the Mexican eatery.

The men were described as being of medium height and stocky build and driving a silver Subaru Liberty sedan, which was stolen from the Bridgewater area.

“Investigators would like to speak to anyone who has information in relation to the burglaries or offenders, or who saw the Subaru in the Moonah or Claremont areas at the time of the burglaries,” Glenorchy CIB Detective Sergeant Ben Duffey said.

Information can be given to Tasmania Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at crimestopperstas.com.au or phone 1800 333 000.
