Teen charged over fire and break-in

A TEENAGER has been charged over the arson and burglary of a Tasmanian bowling club.

The 15-year-old allegedly lit a fire at the Wynyard Bowls Club on January 4.

He will also face charges for allegedly attempting to break into the Wynyard Football Club rooms and the C3 Church on Austin St on New Year’s Eve.

Burnie CIB detectives anticipate to lay further charges against another male and female youth in relation to this arson and burglary.

Detectives would like to speak with anyone who observed a group of youths (two males and one female) in the vicinity of the bowls club between 7.30pm and 9pm on Thursday, January 4. Anyone who has information can call 6477 7291 or 1800 333 000.
