Slowcoach Voges rubbed out

-

PERTH Scorchers skipper Adam Voges will miss today’s top of the table BBL clash with Adelaide after being penalised for a slow over rate for a second time this season.

The Scorchers were found to be 5.25 minutes behind the scheduled time to complete their 20 overs in the recent loss to Sydney Thunder at Spotless Stadium.

Voges’ first offence came in a loss to the Brisbane Heat on January 5, when the Scorchers were six minutes behind.

The two strikes means Voges has been given a mandatory one-match suspension. The loss of Voges for the crucial clash with Adelaide Strikers in Alice Springs is a big blow to the Scorchers, who are still without gun Test opener Shaun Marsh.
