Space tourism is about to take off, so why shouldn’t we combine our tourism success with a holiday that includes astronaut training, in Tasmania? Meeting lacking

I AM a Swiss citizen holidaying on King Island and enjoying the pristine natural wonders of Tasmania’s most beautiful corner. I attended a public meeting in Currie last Friday that was put up by the concerned community in regard of Tassal’s plans to expand its industrial fish-farming to King Island. As a reader wrote about a fish farm meeting on the Tasman Peninsula, no politicians of the major parties and no representative of the regulatory body attended. It was obvious why they did not attend. They are sitting in the same boat with Tassal. No help from their side, no transparency. They let down their people. vomit is prevalent and faeces appear on occasions and it is debatable whether it is dog or human. Surely the businesses around that area could at least hose the footpaths down on a daily basis. I live in fear my dog could catch a disease from walking through this slum-like area. ness of the election, the Liberal Party would be well-advised to reconsider its support, when over 80 per cent of voters want them reduced or removed.
