1. Eve Klein: Vocal Womb. Barrel Room, 1pm, 3pm and 5pm today and tomorrow. In a world premiere, Queensland mezzosoprano Klein is belting out operatic numbers with a laryngoscope up her nose and down her throat, with the fleshy footage projected on-screen behind her. 2. Rahim AlHaj and Karim Wasfi: Still! There is Hope. Main Stage, 2.30pm today. Former Iraqi National Symphony Orchestra conductor Wasfi — famous for playing his cello in the wreckage of a Baghdad car bomb — and oud maestro Rahim AlHaj will unite traditional and contemporary classical music from the East and West, in another world premiere. 3. Brian Jackson and the Southern Gospel Choir: Messages. Main Stage, 6.15pm today. Jazz master Jackson made some of the most poignant and politically charged music of the ‘70s, in collaboration with rap godfather Gil Scott-Heron. He’s here to celebrate their musical legacy. 4. Filastine and Nova: Drapetomania. Main Stage, 8.45pm today. Barcelona producer Filastine and Indonesian neo-soul singer Nova are here to launch “an audio strike against xenophobia”, ushering in a borderless, polyphonic world with a soundtrack that blends wild pop, psychedelic trap, tropical post-folk and future bass. 5. Mayhem: De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas. Main Stage, 8.30pm tomorrow. Black metal might not be your cup of tea, but these Norwegian metal masters must be worth a look, based solely on their crazy backstory — a tale of murder, music and, well, mayhem. They’re at Mofo performing their groundbreaking 1994 debut album in full.
