Join Jimmy’s joy ride

-

ONE of the most prolific joke-tellers of the millennium, British comedian Jimmy Carr, has packaged all his best bits into one show and is bringing it to Hobart this month.

Known for his vast repertoire and lightning-sharp delivery, Carr has been one of the stand-up scene’s biggest attractions for the past 15 years. In that time he has completed nine sellout tours, performing more than 2000 shows to more than two million people across four continents.

Carr won the British Comedy Award for Best Live Stand-Up Tour in 2006, and has also been nominated for the prestigious Perrier Award.

He also became a TV star, hosting news panel show 8 Out of 10 Cats for more than a decade, and making regular appearances on programs such as QI, Celebrity Juice and Drunk History.

But Carr still spends about 200 nights per year on stage performing stand-up comedy, and has now distilled his years of experience into a new show — The Best Of, Ultimate, Gold, Greatest Hits World Tour.

The tour, which kicked off in Australia last month, features more than 300 of the best jokes from throughout Carr’s extraordinary career in the one show — everything fans have laughed at, and been shocked by, from Carr’s previous shows such as Charm Offensive, Joke Technician, Laughter Therapy and Gagging Order.

Carr was last in Australia in January 2016 to perform his show Funny Business, which is now available on Netflix.

Tasmanian fans can see him in the flesh this month when he brings his The Best Of, Ultimate, Gold, Greatest Hits World Tour to Wrest Point at 8pm on February 22. Tickets are $81.39, go to www.ticketmaster.com.au for bookings.
