Wrapped in glitter

THE Liberal Party seems to have learned nothing when it comes to TasWater. They have not listened to councils’ broad range of concerns, which extend beyond payments to councils. They appear to have no care the Legislative Council found their modelling and analysis deficient. I hope

Position, position

AS a regular user of Long Beach area at Sandy Bay for walking and recreation with grandchildren, it is apparent that most other children’s playgrounds, even as far as Orford, have adult exercise equipment for all ages to enjoy and try to keep fit. This is usually very close to the children’s playground so parents and grandparents can exercise while viewing the playground. Being on a grassed area is safer for the elderly and as there is a vast amount of grassed area at Long Beach playground

Nothing compares

UNLESS the main comp (TSL) can be virtually fully funded and clubs have the dollars to recruit the best players in Tassie, hence making it more attractive to watch, it won’t work and will slowly die. In my opinion clubs need to do what’s best for survival and AFL Tasmania certainly doesn’t have and never has had the clubs’ best interest at the forefront. History clearly proves this. It should provide a home for the community and a place for kids to grow from school footy to underage, reserves and seniors. This will help increase the numbers of kids playing footy, nothing compares to playing footy with your schoolmates and your community. There is no better pathway and from this the cream of the talent will rise, hence more players will get drafted.
